Just after 11 am Thursday morning an 18-wheeler loaded with Ariens Zero-Turn mowers was southbound on US 59 between Creekwood and FM 2090 when the driver left the roadway. It is unknown if he fell asleep or was a medical issue. The driver came off the freeway, crashed through the trees between the freeway and feeder then jack-knifed. In all the truck traveled over three football fields before coming to a stop. The driver was transported in stable condition. He left the Lowes in Marshal, Texas earlier today and was headed to Lowes in Houston when the crash occurred. The freeway was down to one lane for several hours as Saddle Creek Towing removed the truck from the roadway.
