18 wheeler pulls out in front of vehicle causes serious injuries

An accident just after 8pm on SH105 West near April Point  has westbound 105 traffic down to one lane and traffic backup is heavy.

According to DPS Trooper Ward a tank truck owned by Curtis and Son of Liberty, Texas pulled out of a private driveway and attempted to go eastbound on SH 105. A Pontiac G6 was westbound and struck the rear axle of the 18-wheeler entrapping the yet unidentified driver. A female passenger was also in the vehicle and was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center by MCHD. The male driver was extricated by Lake Conroe Fire Department and flown by Life Flight to Hermann Hospital in Houston in critical condition.

SH 105 westbound was closed to one lane for almost two hours as the accident investigation continued and debris was cleared from the road.

DPS Commercial Vehicle Inspection unit arrived on the scene to inspect the tanker.

DPS would not release any names until they were sure all family members have been notified. No citations have been issued at this time but DPS continues the on scene investigation.
