2 Alarm Fire at Cobble Creek Apartments

On Thursday May 21, 2020 at approximately 4am, the Tomball Police Department was
dispatched to a 911 hang-up at the Cobble Creek Apartments. Upon arrival police officers found
an apartment building with a large amount of fire. Police Officers began to evacuate the involved
building and adjacent buildings. Tomball Firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and
reported a large volume of fire on the second story of the building and requested a second alarm
assignment. Hose lines were pulled and an aerial ladder truck deployed to quickly extinguish the
flames. The fire was brought under control at approximately 515am. Tomball firefighters were
assisted by Magnolia, Klein, Spring, and Rosehill Fire Departments on this incident.
The building involved was a 16 unit building, 4 of these units sustained only smoke damage due
to the quick actions of arriving crews. The American Red Cross is assisting with the needs of the
affected residents.
All residents of building were able to evacuate the structure without injury. One Firefighter was
transported by Northwest Community Health for dehydration.
The Tomball Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and determined it to be caused by an
unknown electrical anomaly.
