A Montgomery County toddler died Wednesday afternoon while playing outside with both of his parents and at least one sibling at home.
Just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office along with NMC Fire and MCHD responded to a reported child drowning on Timber Switch Drive in far northeast Montgomery County. Units arrived on the scene to find a 2-year-old child unresponsive. CPR was initiated as paramedics worked almost 30 minutes on the scene with the child. He was then transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased close to 6:30 pm. Early reports are that the child had been playing in the yard on this rural property. The mother went into the house to check on another child. When she returned she could not find the child. Her husband, who was outside on the tractor, found the child in the pond about 100 feet from where he was last seen playing.
The family would have celebrated the little boy’s third birthday this weekend. Please keep them in your prayers.
