Montgomery County Constable Pct. 4 Deputies served 22 civil papers throughout East Montgomery County leaving 20 pending. Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable’s office made several arrests, clearing 16 JP 4 warrants. The Deputies also arrested 1 person for an outstanding Montgomery County misdemeanor warrant, and 4 persons for outstanding felony warrants.
No Driver’s License, No Insurance, No Way
13 vehicles were towed in East Montgomery County for no DL and no insurance and 24 citations were issued to the drivers for traffic violations. 4 other vehicles were towed after the driver’s were arrested during a traffic stop.
On Nov. 29 at 1 a.m. Constable Hayden attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver passenger car that cut through a gas station parking lot to avoid stopping at the red light at the corner of FM 1485 and Old Houston Rd. The driver of the car did not stop, and the Constable gave chase. The vehicle traveled down Old Houston Rd. at a high rate of speed. The driver of the car turned onto a side road and then into a driveway. The driver jumped from vehicle as it was still rolling. Constable Hayden again gave chase- this time on foot. The driver was quickly caught by Hayden and brought back to his vehicle. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Melvin Whitmire from New Caney. Melvin was found to be in possession of several different types of illegal narcotics (pills & meth.). He also had two outstanding felony warrants out for his arrest in Montgomery County. Inside the silver car, assisting deputies located a man and woman. The man gave a name Johnny Bell, but Constable Hayden soon learned his real name was Freddy Rummell. The female was identified as 23-year-old Ashley Applegate from Mineola. Freddy had and active felony warrant for his arrest issued by the Texas Criminal Justice Parole Division. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Ashley was found to be very intoxicated and to be in possession of a dangerous drug. The vehicle was seized as it was used in the commission of a felony crime (evading arrest motor vehicle). All three were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Their charges are listed below:
Whitmire: evading arrest motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, 3 counts of possession controlled substance, and two felony warrants.
Rummell: fail to identify as a fugitive, possession of a controlled substance, parole warrant
Applegate: public intoxication ,possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a dangerous drug.
Neighborhood Narcotics Enforcement
* On Nov. 24, at 8:30 p.m. Corporal Looza and Deputy Williams conducted a traffic stop on a gold colored truck for a minor traffic violation on FM 1314 in the Porter area. The driver was identified as 30-year-old Isaac Johnson from New Caney. After further investigation Isaac was arrested for an active felony warrant from Montgomery County and possession of a controlled substance. Isaac was found to be in possession of meth and cocaine, and was transported to the East Montgomery county Jail.
* On Nov. 26 at 1:30 a.m. Deputy Bergland conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as 26-year-old Jason Munoz from New Caney. During the traffic stop Deputy Bergland noticed marijuana below the dash board. Jason was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the east Montgomery County Jail.
* On Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. Deputy Ford conducted a sex offender compliance check on 22-year-old William Averitt at his home located on Fostoria Rd. near Hwy 59 in Splendora. During the investigation William was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon and this convicted felon was in possession of a firearm. Deputy Ford also discovered a marijuana grow lab in a small building located at the rear of the property. William was arrested for felony possession of marijuana, prohibited weapon (sawed off shot gun), and a felony in possession of a firearm (pump shot gun). William was transported to the East Montgomery County Jail.
On Nov. 25 at 5:30 pm Constable Hayden conducted a traffic stop on a gray car for a traffic violation. The driver gave Constable Hayden the name of Christopher Bedgood, and gave a false date of birth. Further investigation led Constable Hayden to arrest the driver for fail to I.D. as a fugitive. The driver was then identified as Kenneth Bedgood from Cleveland. Kenneth had two active J-P 4 warrants for his arrest. Kenneth was transported to the East Montgomery County Jail.
D.W.I. for the 10th TIME!!!!!
On Nov. 26 at 12:50 a.m. Corporal Looza and his partner Deputy Cannon conducted a traffic stop on a gray truck in the FM 1485 and Hwy 59 area of New Caney for a traffic violation. The driver was identified 52-year-old Donald Goldsmith from New Caney. The Deputies noticed that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. A DPS Trooper was called to the scene to perform a filed sobriety test. After several test, Donald was arrested for D.W.I. Donald refused to give a breath test at the police station, but further investigation showed that Donald had been arrested nine times for D.W.I. in the past. This would be the second DWI in this month of November. The Montgomery county D.A.’s office assisted with this case. Donald was transported to a local hospital where a mandatory blood draw was conducted. Donald was then transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with felony D.W.I. His bond was set at $50,000.
