PRECINCT FOUR WEEK OF JUNE 8, 2010

Montgomery County Constable Pct. 4 Deputies served 35 civil papers, including 7 evictions, throughout East Montgomery County. Numerous suspects were arrested, clearing 14 JP4 warrants, and 1 Wharton County warrant for felony probation violation.

No Driver’s License, No Insurance, No Way!
30 vehicles were towed in East Montgomery County because 17 drivers had no license and/or no insurance, 5 drivers were arrested during traffic stops, 4 vehicles were traffic hazards and 4 vehicles were towed for other reasons.

Neighborhood Patrol

They had it, others didn’t

On June 5, around 12:30 a.m., Deputy C. Turrentine responded to a report that a vehicle struck the Sonic Drive In on FM 1314 in Porter. He arrived to find a Dodge Dakota pickup driven by 28-year-old Eric Michael Estlinbaum of Porter, who admitted he accidentally struck the building with his truck. Estlinbaum and his passenger, 31-year-old Donald Lee Lindsay, Jr., of Porter, were standing outside the vehicle when Deputy Turrentine arrived. After Deputy Turrentine noticed a white powdery substance on Lindsay’s mouth, Lindsay admitted he was chewing up some Xanax pills to hide them from the officer, but he had more in his pockets, along with Soma. A toolbox in the truck contained Soma and Hydrocodone and a further search of the vehicle produced a clear plastic bag containing marijuana.
Estlinbaum admitted he had been drinking and failed a standard field sobriety test. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. Lindsay was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.

Growing more than tomatoes

Deputy Dwayne Morrow arrested an unexpected suspect, while assisting another agency with a manhunt on June 3. Deputy Morrow and others responded to the Timberland Blvd. area in Porter to help DPS find a man who fled a major accident scene on Timberland Blvd. Having obtained the suspect’s identity, Deputy Morrow went to the suspect’s house where he spoke with the suspect’s parents. They said their son was not home and offered to let the officer look inside the house and in their backyard. While looking around the backyard, Deputy Morrow found a flower bed with four marijuana plants growing among some vegetables. The suspect’s father, 54-year-old Elias Montoya Sanchez, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Mobile enterprise shut down

On June 2, around 2 a.m., Pct. 4 deputies witnessed a drug transaction between the driver of a silver passenger car and another person in the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station located at Hwy 242 and FM 1485. Officers approached the silver vehicle driven by 37-year-old Eddie Charles Thomas, Jr. of Conroe and found 3 passengers, including front seat passenger Reba Lanett Thomas, 30, of Conroe.
Reba Thomas’ purse contained the cash from the drug transaction, along with Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Soma.
Deputy Juan Chapa arrested Eddie and Reba Thomas. He is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. She is charged with 2 counts of delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

DWI 3rd or more

Around 1 a.m. on June 2, Deputy Ricky Ford was patrolling southbound on US 59 when a blue Dodge Charger passed him at a high rate of speed. Deputy Ford followed the vehicle, and when he finally reached it, the car was traveling at 90 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone. Deputy Ford initiated a traffic stop on the feeder road, south of the Community Dr. Exit where the suspect failed the standard field sobriety test. He was then taken to Kingwood Medical Center for a blood draw. Christopher Elias Hines, 35, of Cleveland, was charged with his third or more Driving While Intoxicated.

MOST WANTED

Brett Wayne Mills, 20, remains at large and is again the Pct. 4 Constable’s Office’s Most Wanted fugitive.
Mills was arrested on September 10, 2009 for evading arrest in a motor vehicle following a pursuit and capture by Constable Hayden. Mills was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he later posted bond and was released but failed to appear in court as promised. He was also arrested in 2007 for evading arrest and in 2008 for possession of a controlled substance.
Mills was known to stay at a residence in the Porter area and may be somewhere in that vicinity. Mills is a white male, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 215 pounds.
