MOTORCYCLE CRASH TONIGHT CRITICAL TO DRIVER

At 6:50p.m. this evening just as DPS was finishing investigating the Old Houston crash a motorcycle accident was reported on Rayford Road at the railroad tracks. According to DPS Sgt. Angela Fountain, the 2007 motorcycle was eastbound on Rayford Road at what witnesses described as the posted speed limit. As the motorcycle crossed the tracks  a white GMC pickup driven by 29-year-old Mark Bato of Spring pulled out of Lazy Lane in an attempt to turn left on Rayford Road. Bato said he never saw the motorcycle.

The 30-year-old motorcycle driver who was not wearing his helmet saw the truck pull out and as he braked he laid the bike down. Both he and his female rider were ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle never struck the truck.

The motorcycle driver has been identified as Scot Fowler of Trinity, Texas.

When EMS crews arrived at the scene along with South Montgomery County Fire Department the motorcycle driver had no pulse.

By the time Life Flight arrived CPR had helped regain a pulse and he was flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston with severe head trauma.

The female identified as 34-year-old Misty Keen of Houston was transported to Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands in stable condition.

The accident is being referred to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
