Murder suspect was murdered, home torched

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed Friday morning that the man found deceased inside his burned home on Feb. 1 was murdered and was positively identified as murder suspect Michael Fred Gloede, 55. An autopsy showed Gloede died from gunshot wounds to the head, according to a statement from the two agencies. No motive was officially released, but revenge is an obvious possibility.

The statement said the two agencies spent the week combing through evidence at the residence located at 1524 West Creek Drive and interviewing witnesses, which culminated in the arrests of two teenagers on Thursday night.

Keith Ryan Randall, whose 19th birthday is tomorrow, was arrested along with a 15-year-old female. Both Conroe ISD students are charged with murder.

As previously noted, Gloede was awaiting trial in the 2006 brutal murder of his son’s girlfriend, Lori Randall who died from injuries suffered at Gloede’s residence where she spent the last days of her life. According to Randall’s obituary, Keith is her son.

Brandon and Fred Gloede both lived at the West Creek Drive address when Randall died. They were arrested on March 31, 2008, charged with first-degree murder and eventually both were released on bond.

Gloede’s son, 30-year-old Michael Brandon Gloede was reindicted last May, then tried and convicted of the crime in July. He is currently in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Corrections.
