For the second day in a row, there has been a tragic accidental shooting in the Conroe area.
Monday evening just after 8pm Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department took a call in regard to a shooting in the Mosswood Subdivision.
River Plantation Fire Department and Precinct 2 Constables office responded along with MCHD and Sheriff’s deputies.
On arrival, they found 25-year-old Linda Marie Hare shot in the head with an unknown type of pistol. She was extremely critical and after stabilizing her PHI AirMedical flew her to Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in critical condition.
Montgomery County Detectives have determined that Ms. Hare and her boyfriend Michael Leveillee, age 27, had just returned home from work to their two-story home on Mosswood at Orangewood Drive.
As Mr. Leveillee was cooking a pizza in the kitchen Ms. Hare, who was in the laundry room heard their small dog frantically barking in the backyard. She advised Levelllee of this and she retrieved a pistol which he had owned a short time. Levelliee who had purchased the gun due to an increase in crime in the area cocked it as he approached the back door. The gun discharged striking Ms. Hare in the head.
Montgomery County Detectives stated there was a third person who was in the house and stated there had been no problems.
After talking with detectives he was released. The shooting will be referred to the Grand Jury without charges. The investigation is continuing.
