Just before 5 pm, Montgomery County Deputies responded to an alligator in the ditch along Tram Road at Hill and Dale in Splendora. Units arrived and found a 7-foot alligator in a deep ditch. They attempted to contact a Game Warden.

When that was unsuccessful Slinky Knox and his son who was on the scene volunteered to capture the gator and transport it to the San Jacinto River. Knox has handled many alligators over the years so it wasn’t long that he had the alligator detained. He then transported the alligator to the East Fork of the San Jacinto River along FM 2090 just a short distance away. This has been the third alligator in 24-hours. Friday night deputies took a 10-foot alligator into custody and transported it in a patrol vehicle back to the river. A Precinct 1 Deputy also encountered a small gator on Friday.
