almost 2000 homes in east montgomery county are with out power

Almost 2000 homes are without power tonight as a sudden storm moved in from the east. One of the areas hardest hit was south of 242 along Firetower Road where several large oak trees have been downed, tops blown out of trees and a large sweetgum tree fell across power lines breaking a pole and dropping large lines to the ground. One of those striking a vehicle.

Entergy is working to restore power, however the Fire tower Road damage may be tomorrow before it can be repaired. Other areas include Porter Heights which thet are working to restore in the next 4 hours. Everything along FM 1485 from Firetower to Gene Campbell..

Get an emergency generator, although you will get NO return on investment, they are nice to have; that’s if you can afford one.
