ALTERED LICENSE PLATE LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

altered ignitionOn February 11, 2016 just after 11:30am, Montgomery County Pct. 4 Narcotics Interdiction Team (NIT), while following up on narcotics tips, witnessed a known felon operating a motorcycle with a defective license plate. Contact was made with the subject at a gas station on FM 1485 and Baptist Encampment in New Caney, TX.

An investigation showed the ignition system of the motorcycle was also altered. Hidden in a compartment on the motorcycle, deputies located a container with over 18 grams of methamphetamines, which carries a street value of around $450.

The motorcycle has been turned over to Montgomery County Auto Theft and more charges may be pending.

Constable Hayden stated, “This is exactly why have deputies patrolling the neighborhoods. 18 grams of methamphetamines can easily be packaged and resold to many other people. We have to stop the transportation and sale of illegal narcotics in Montgomery County.”
