Today, just after 12 noon, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a robbery inside the Kroger Store at the Woodforest Bank at FM 1488 and FM 2978.

Deputies learned that the suspect gave a bank teller a note that demanded money and that he had a gun. While no gun was displayed, the teller complied with the demand handing over an undermined amount of money.

The suspect left the store and no one was injured. Deputies from surrounding areas converged in the area but a suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a white male between 40 to 45 years old, wearing a long sleeve multi-colored western style shirt, glasses and an orange ball cap. The suspect’s method of escape was not witnessed.

Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Section were on the scene and are conducting interviews and examining evidence.
