San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said, “You just never know what you are going to run into out there!”
On February 25, 2016, San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office received a call in regards to a Credit Card Theft. Deputy Nathan Deweese responded and met with the complainant at her residence in Shepherd, Texas. The complainant advised Deputy Deweese that a male, with whom she is personally acquainted, took her credit card and made a purchase at a local auto parts store without her consent. The complainant stated she observed the suspect walking back with a car battery after receiving an cell phone alert that her credit card was being charged. The complainant advised the suspect put the battery into a toy car and left her home driving the toy car.
A short time later, Deputy Deweese received information on the location of the suspect. He was reportedly driving around in a “Pink Escalade Power Wheels Car” on FM 223 in Shepherd. Deputy Deweese located the suspect doing just that and was able to take him into custody without incident. The “Toy Car” was delivered to a home where the suspect was staying and he was placed into the San Jacinto County Jail, charged with Credit Card Abuse.
