Just after 4:30am Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a pickup crashed into the concrete barrier on I-45 northbound near the Walker County line. Units arrived to find the truck without a driver. In the bed of the truck was an ATM. The windshield had heavy damage and the hood was covered with footprints. Deputies checked with all surrounding law enforcement agencies including Houston who had just finished a pursuit on Collingsworth Drive in northeast Houston where they captured some ATM thieves and recovered an ATM. As that was happening HPD units were arriving on the scene of another ATM attempted theft on Harrisburg in Houston. There the suspects failed to get the ATM but left a van behind. Deputies removed the truck and transported it and the ATM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab. Anyone who may have seen the single vehicle crash or has any information on the theft is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
