Attempted abduction at The Woodlands Mall

PRESS RELEASE

On Monday, April 27, 2009, around 5:30 PM a female shopper (age 46) at the Woodlands Mall reported to Mall Security that she was the victim of an attempted kidnapping that had just occurred on the north side of the Mall near Dillard’s Department Store.

The victim reported that as she was getting into her car, a young man in his early 20’s attempted to get into her vehicle by displaying a gun. The suspect told the victim that he was going to get into the car and that the victim was going to drive away with him. The victim reported that that the suspect told her that he would kill her if she did not comply with his demands.

The victim locked the door and backed up. She last saw the suspect running through the parking lot and into Dillard’s.

The victim spoke to Mall Security but left before the Sheriff’s Office arrived. The victim reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Office today.

The suspect is described as:

Hispanic Male/17-27
125 pounds
5’4” – thin build – dark hair
Dark shirt, possible hat and beige sandals
