When Chris Stewart did not return home from riding his 4-wheeler, his brother and a friend went looking for him. Unfortunately, they found Stewart on the side of Fostoria Rd. where he crashed his ATV. He was not breathing and starting to turn blue.
A neighbor ran to get an off-duty paramedic who lives nearby.
The Splendora Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District EMS responded to the scene. With Stewart breathing again, medics requested a medical helicopter. PHI responded, but shortly after their arrival, Stewart’s condition worsened again, and they were unable to fly him.
Stewart was transported to LBJ Trauma Center in Houston by ground ambulance in critical condition.
