Just before 1 a.m. on Friday, it was reported that a pedestrian was in the middle of FM 1314 near Jim Stowe Road. Soon after, 911 calls indicated that a male pedestrian had been struck by a car on FM 1314, south of SH 242. Caney Creek Fire Department and MCHD arrived on the scene and found a deceased male in the moving lane of traffic on FM 1314. The female driving the vehicle that struck him was also injured by glass from impact.
DPS Troopers spent several hours on the scene investigating. Results from the initial investigation concluded that the driver was traveling southbound on unlit FM 1314 and did not see the pedestrian in her lane who was wearing dark clothes. She struck him and he partially penetrated her windshield, then went up and over her vehicle.
The pedestrian, who had no identification on him was taken to the Montgomery County Forensic Center by Eickenhorst Funeral Directors as ordered by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts.
Names have not been released as of this time.
