BABY RECOVERING AFTER GUNSHOT

Late Sunday afternoon Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accidental shooting on Eastridge Drive in the Legends Ranch Subdivision. The call came in from a woman who stated her husband was cleaning a gun and the child was accidently shot. MCHD also responded and found a two-year old with a bullet wound to the hand. The child was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.  According to Montgomery County Detectives, the child’s father had been cleaning  his 9mm pistol. He became distracted and set it down. That is when the child started to handle the weapon and it went off. The child is in stable condition.

I JUST CLEANED MY GUNS LAST NIGHT. IT TOOK ALL NIGHT, I HAVE ALOT OF GUNS.
THE FIRST THING, THE VERY FIRST THING I DID AND ALWAYS DO AS A MOST RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS WOULD DO IS TO MAKE SURE THE GUN IS NOT LOADED. ON EACH AND EVERY WEAPON EVERYTIME WITHOUT FAIL BECAUSE I COULD NOT LIVE WITH MYSELF IF I DID WHAT THIS MORON DID. ITS REALLY JUST THAT SIMPLE. TO ME, THIS SAYS THIS MAN SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO OWN OR OPERAATE A FIREARM. THESE MISTAKES ARE ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE.
BUT THIS MAN WILL HAVE LIVE WITH HIS MISTAKE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE AND THAT IS SOME KIND OF PUNISHMENT. NO CUSHY OR COMFORT WORDS, YOU MESSED UP BAD AND BROKE THE CARDINAL RULE OF FIREARMS.

I was thinking the same thing. Either he gives up the gun or the child, or both. He probably was just whipping the gun around trying to look cool. Can you imagine shooting your own kid? Its time to make some changes, man.

This father should not have a gun, that simple. Or perhaps he should not have children? Who cleans a loaded gun, sounds strange to me. Needs to be more investigation.
