breaking news-highway 105 between plantersville and dobbin remain closed

Just after 1pm a Dodge utility truck was eastbound on SH 105 at Mount Miriah waiting to turn left. A Honda Civic also eastbound approached it from the rear. This in turn pushed the Dodge into the westbound lanes where it was struck head-on by an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler left the roadway after she blew a tire causing it to crash through a fence at the tree line.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Dodge truck was transported in stable condition.

DPS remains on the scene investigating the accident which could have 105 closed at least another two hours.

Eastboiund traffic has been diverting down `FM 1774 to Magnolia. At this point there is almost a five mile backup on FM 1774 from FM 1488. Westbound traffic is being forced toy u-turn back toward Montgomery.

Another accident has just happened in the intersection of SH 105 and FM 1486. Two young ladies are trapped in the wreckage but have minor injuries. They were broadsided by a Dodge pickup
