Just after 4:30pm Liberty County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Plum Grove Fire Department on FM 1010. Firefighters reported a female had been cleaning a building and discovered a container with approximately five pounds of mercury. Liberty County has confirmed it was mercury. Two civilians and one firefighter who were thought to be exposed to it were not. Liberty County Hazmat is transporting the mercury to a safe disposal site.
