Late Monday afternoon after a long day and night for detectives their work paid off. Terry Dale Carnes turned himself in at the New Caney Sheriff’s Office Substation. He was immediately arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

There he is being held on a $200,000 bond for Kidnapping. Even though he was thought to be homeless he did have a vehicle and gave his address when he was booked into the jail as Cutler Road.

On August 08, 2010, around 2:15 PM Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the Cleveland Hospital Emergency   Room in reference to the report of the kidnapping of a 14 year old juvenile female from Diamond T Drive Splendora, Montgomery County, Texas.

The 14 year old victim told investigators that she was walking on Diamond T Drive in East Montgomery County when a bluish green Mazda Protege or Honda Civic pulled up and stopped behind her. The driver got out and introduced himself as “Terry” and asked the victim if she would like a ride.

The victim declined the offer for a ride and told investigators that the suspect then grabbed her and forced her into his car and drove to secluded area on East River Drive Splendora, Montgomery County, Texas, where he attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and ran into the woods, then to a nearby roadway where she flagged down a passing motorist for help.

I know the step-father of the girl who was kidnapped – and it all happened right there in front of her house. Scary when you think of how many of us let our kids play in the front yard believing they will be safe.
This is exactly the reason my daughter only gets to play out back and NOT in front unless Im sitting out there with her.
Thank goodness the girl is safe and her attacker is behind bars.
