A dispute between two men from the same neighborhood led to a shooting early Thursday evening, leaving one man dead and the other on his way to jail.
According to Detective Dan Zientek with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:10 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting in the 16900 block of West Hammond, where they found 51-year-old Marcus Fisher had been shot by 33-year-old Ryan Devita.
The preliminary investigation indicated Fisher was standing near his motorcycle on the street as he and Devita got into some sort of altercation before Devita wielded a shotgun and fired on Fisher. As of this writing, it was not determined when Devita retrieved the weapon.
Medics arrived on scene and attempted to treat Fisher, but he was beyond help and was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was transported to the Montgomery County Forensic Services Department for autopsy.
Ryan Devita was taken into custody, and was being questioned as of press time. Zientek said murder charges were anticipated.
Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon and his staff assisted on the scene.
