About 7:30 pm Tuesday a male, his girlfriend and her 14-year-old son were enjoying a boat ride on Lake Livingston. Severe weather moved into the area causing the boat to start to sink. The male could see the shore and decided to swim. He told the female and her son to stay with the boat. As he swam from the island to shore darkness set in. A passing boat heard his calls for help and picked him up. When they returned to the area the boat was in, it and the female and her son were gone. Currently, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Game Wardens, the Camilla Fire Department and a US Coast Guard helicopter are searching the lake. The rains have held off which is helping to continue the search.
