BRIARCREST ROBBER STILL AT LARGE

Early Tuesday morning Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a robbery at the Briarcrest Apartments at 25650 Interstate 45.

A female just arriving in her vehicle was approached by a black male with a pistol who demanded her purse.

Just moments later a Shenandoah Police unit spotted the vehicle southbound on 45 near Rayford and gave pursuit. The chase continued down the Hardy Tollroad through Old Town Spring and across to Lexington Woods Subdivision off Aldine Westfield.

It was at this point four suspects fled the vehicle into the woods at a dead-end street. A perimeter was set up using MCSO, Harris County Sheriff’s units, Harris County Precinct 4 units and DPS Troopers. A DPS helicopter was requested at the scene.

The stolen property was recovered from the vehicle.
