BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF FOUND UNRESPONSIVE-POSSIBLY STROKE

FROM KTXS NEWSROOM

Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs is being “evaluated and treated” in the emergency department at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.

“I won’t be able to get a typical condition report until or unless he (Grubbs) is admitted,” Lynne Bruton said in a text.

Grubbs was reportedly found unresponsive in his home about 6:45 a.m. and was flown by helicopter to Abilene.

According to our media partners at the Brownwood Bulletin, the helicopter took off about 8 or 8:30 a.m. for Hendrick Medical Center’s “stroke center.”

“I was there when they put him on the helicopter,” Chief Deputy Bobby Duvall told the Bulletin. “He was unresponsive for the attendants. Right now we’re worried about him. Just pray for him. He’s a good man.”

An ex-Texas Ranger, Grubbs is serving his third term as Brown County sheriff. He hasn’t said if he plans to seek reelection.
