BURN BAN BEING LIFTED DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN BURN COPIERS AND FURNITURE

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to an illegal burn this morning at 13362 FM 830. North Montgomery Fire Department had been dispatched to a fire at the location and arrived to find not tree limbs or leaves burning. They discovered copy machines, mattresses, furniture and building material.

The owner was cited for illegally burning as the fire department extinguished the blaze.

Weather conditions are quickly changing, winds are picking up. If you burn stay with it and keep a hose close by. Also make sure the area surrounding your fire is clear of any combustibles.

Yesterday, my neighbor was burning something that put off real black smoke. The fire department came out (I saw them go over there). When the fire department came, the smoke had gone down and was barely burning. About 30 minutes later, I heard a loud pop. The black smoke started up again. The fire had a smell that wasn’t like burning leaves and limbs.

When “Partial Burn Ban Lifted With Conditions” was posted, somehow I knew that people were not going to pay attention to the details.
