On 08/20/2018, at approximately 1918 hours, deputies with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit were working in the South Liberty Oilfield area when they observed a vehicle violate a Texas traffic law. The vehicle was stopped and the deputy noticed that there were two female occupants in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Ashley Renee Heighton, W/F, DOB: 01/03/1995. The passenger advised that she did not have any identification. She identified herself as Brianna Blackburn, W/F, DOB: 11/08/1994. A check was made to determine the identity of Blackburn and no information was found.
It was found that the two were going to visit a known residence that in the past has sold narcotics. The driver gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search a plastic bag containing drug paraphernalia and a crystal-like substance consistent with Methamphetamine was found. The defendants were read their rights and waived them.
Both defendants admitted that they had recently used Meth. When the deputies arrested the defendants the passenger admitted that she has given a fake name. She stated that her real identity was Brette Kennedy Hill, W/F, DOB: 04/30/1995. It was discovered that Hill had an outstanding warrant for a Felony Parole warrant for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
The defendants were transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident. Ashley Renee Heighton was charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance, PG1 – SJF.
Brette Kennedy Hill was charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance, PG1- SJF and Fail to ID/Fugitive Intent to Give False Information – Class A Misdemeanor.
