CAR BURGLAR BUSTED

During the early morning hours of December 1, 2016, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 200 Champions Forest Dr. in reference to suspicious vehicle that was possibly involved in breaking into vehicles. When the responding units arrived, they did not initially locate the suspect vehicle but did observe several vehicle’s with their doors open. Further investigation revealed that several vehicle’s had in fact been unlawfully entered. As deputies continued to check the area they observed the suspect vehicle headed in their direction. When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver sped off in an attempt to flee from deputies. After a short pursuit the vehicle stopped at which time deputies were able to detain the adult female driver, identified as Marie Saldana, without incident. The remaining suspects, all identified as being juveniles, fled on foot but were later captured without incident.

During inventory of the vehicles deputies found numerous stolen items such as tools, laptops and a firearm. These items were recovered and returned to the owners.

“Maria Saldana was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Use or Possession of ID/ Theft of a Firearm. Saldana was booked into Harris County Jail and received a $5,000.00 Bond. The juveniles involved were also charged with Fraudulent Use or Possession of ID/Theft of a Firearm. All are awaiting trial at this time.” – Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman
