CHASE INJURES ONE IN CONROE

Conroe Police Department spotted a stolen truck Sunday evening and attempted to stop it. The officers observed a grey 2006 Chevrolet silver pickup disregard the red light at North 1st and West Davis. When they attempted a traffic stop the truck fled running almost twenty miles in eighteen minutes. The truck continued at sppeds as low as 50 and high as 100. As they came down 1st street near Dallas they were at 100 MPH. They continued south and split off onto Second Street. He continued south through the intersection of Second and Phillips where he struck a woman and her husband in a 2006 Dodge pickup.
The suspect then fled on foot. He was captured after a short struggle. The female was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released. Her husband who also attempted to assist police in chasing the suspect down on foot was treated at the scene for minor injuries
The suspect, James Michael Peluso, age 36, was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and is charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Felony Third Degree, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Felony Third Degree, and Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Felony Third Degree.
