Just after 8 pm Saturday Harris County Precinct 4 Constables received a call in which the caller reported a robbery had just taken place at the K&S Seafood Restaurant at the intersection of North Gessner and Philippine. The caller went on toe say shots had been fired and customers were holding one of the robbers on the floor.
Multiple units responded. When they arrived they took custody of a black juvenile male who was with another older black male when the duo entered the business with the intention of robbing it.
According to witnesses, both black males entered the business. The older taller male, showing a handgun went behind the counter to take the money from the cash drawer. The other black male started walking through the dining area taking billfolds and cell phones. The young robber was quite surprised when one of the patrons put him on the floor and drew a pistol on him.
When the gunman behind the counter heard the commotion, he came around the corner and seeing what was happening raised his pistol at the patrol with the CHL. That is when the patron open fired on the robber. With the robber fleeing out the door and down the sidewalk the shots continued to rain down on him.
The front door was shot out and several windows suffered bullet holes. However the robber did get away. A perimeter was set up and K-9 was called but deputies were unable to locate the robber.
There were no injuries. The patron who possessed the Concealed Handgun License said he held it for at least six years. Holding it is one thing he said but practicing is another. He said he goes to the range often.
The juvenile was taken into custody.
