On Friday, January 22, 2021, at 11:17 pm, Officers with the Cleveland Police Department responded to a one-vehicle accident located on the US 59 North Feeder, just north of FM 2025.
A black 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck exited the roadway and crashed into a wooded area located on the east side of the feeder. Upon arrival, officers found the driver unresponsive. The driver was later pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Ralph Fuller; an autopsy has been ordered.
The deceased’s family has been notified; the driver is identified as Gustavo Burgos of Cleveland, Texas, age 26.
The Cleveland Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation. Preliminary findings indicate excessive speed is a contributing factor.
