CLEVELAND WOMAN CRITICAL AFTER CRASH

At approximately 10:45 pm on May 4, 2018, a silver 2004 Ford Excursion, driven by Athena Boyington, 45, of Cleveland, was south-bound on US-59.  Boyington was pulling a trailer that was loaded.  Her trailer started whipping and caused her to lose control of her vehicle.  Boyington’s vehicle left the pavement to the right and rolled.  During the roll over, Boyington was ejected from her vehicle.  Her vehicle came to rest upside down facing north at the edge of the wood line (Boyington came to rest next to her vehicle).  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Nick Hatton and Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol.  A landing zone was set up on 59 and Boyington was flown by PHi Air Medical to Conroe Regional Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  All traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation, cleanup, and flight operations.  Boyington was cited for no seatbelt and may be facing other citations.  A rollback wrecker from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan recovered Boyington’s vehicle and the trailer.
