A cold front will be moving through the area overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Most of the rain activity associated with the front should mainly be along and south of the I-10 corridor. The main impact from the cold front will be the strong gusty northerly winds developing in the wake of the front late Saturday morning into Sunday, bringing Gale conditions across the coastal waters. A Gale Watch has been issued for the Gulf waters and could be extended into Matagorda Bay later. In addition, a Wind Advisory may be issued for the southern portions of the region, in particular the Barrier Islands.
Breezy conditions will result in wind chill values in the 20s Sunday morning.
