CONROE HOUSE FIRE

Conroe, TX: The City of Conroe Fire Department was notified of a residential structure fire in the 100 Block of Creekside, near Longmire Rd., at approximately 2:11 pm on January 23, 2014.
Conroe Firefighters arrived at approximately 2:17 pm and reported that there was smoke visible from the residence. Conroe firefighters quickly entered the residence and extinguished the fire.

The fire was declared under control at approximately 2:30 pm.
The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries to firefighters. Four cats were rescued by firefighters during the extinguishment effort. They were taken, by the homeowner, to a veterinarian for smoke inhalation treatment.
The City of Conroe Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the origin of the fire to be in the kitchen. The cause is not yet known and is under investigation.

The fire does not appear to be weather related and is not suspicious in nature.
