CONROE HOUSE FIRE

On Monday at 7:26 a.m., the City of Conroe Fire Department was notified of a residential fire in the 2500 block of Ellis Park Ln. near New Harmony Dr.

Conroe firefighters arrived on scene at 7:33 a.m. and reported heavy fire from the garage of the residence. They initiated an aggressive interior attack on the fire and were able to contain it to the garage. All occupants of the residence were accounted for. The incident was declared under control at 7:48 a.m.

There were no reported injuries to firefighters or occupants of the residence. The Conroe Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office has initiated an investigation into the origin of the fire. The investigation is ongoing with no further information available at this time.

While propane is not believed to be the cause of this fire, the Conroe Fire Department would like to remind the community that storing any propane container indoors creates a very dangerous fire and
explosion hazard and is not advisable. It is recommended that propane containers be stored outside on a firm surface and away from any source of ignition.
