This morning, approximately 9:30 am, Conroe Police Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Valero Convenience Store located at 700 East Davis Street. Initial information indicated three black males dressed in black clothing robbed the store and then fled from the scene on foot. One of the males displayed a handgun during the robbery.
Arriving officers learned three black males wearing black clothing, black jackets, and black bandanas entered the store at approximately 9:30 am. One suspect stood by the front door, the second suspect approached the counter with a grey color handgun, and the third suspect who was carrying a backpack went to the back of the store.
The suspect at the door attempted to block a female customer from leaving the store. The customer was able to push past the suspect and leave the store. The female counter clerk, retreated away from the counter and the male with the gun. The suspect with the backpack approached the counter, opened the register, and removed the money from the register. The suspect with the backpack also attempted to open a nearby safe but was unsuccessful.
Witnesses outside the store were able to provide officers with additional information including the robbers’ direction of travel. One witness was able to provide officers with the location of a residence where the suspects were last seen entering. The witness pointed to a residence in the 700 block of East Phillips Street. Conroe Police officers secured a perimeter around the residence. Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable Deputies also assisted in locating the residence and securing the perimeter. Conroe Police Detectives were able to make phone contact with the suspects inside the residence. After a short conversation, the suspects exited the house and were taken into custody without incident.
The suspects were transported to the Conroe Police Department for questioning and then transported to the Montgomery County Jail. The three suspects were identified as:
Jose Jesus Bahena, 09-22-87 Aggravated Robbery, Felony First Degree
Marcus Alexander Price, 08-23-89 Aggravated Robbery, Felony First Degree
Robert Ladell King, 10-01-89 Aggravated Robbery, Felony First Degree
