CONROE STOLEN VEHICLE ENDS UP IN CLEVELAND AFTER LENGTHY PURSUIT

Splendora units were on patrol on FM 2090 when a call went out over the radio for a stolen vehicle that was going south on FM 3083 from Conroe. Since they were the closest units to FM 3083 they continued down FM 2090 to FM 3083. As they traveled north on FM 3083 the stolen Toyota truck passed them southbound at Texaco Road. A pursuit was initiated. It continued at speeds close to 60 mph down FM 2090 to I-69 then south to Creekwood, at which point the driver threw a baggie of meth out the window hitting a Splendora patrol units windshield and causing the bag to burst. . He then went north into Liberty County at which point Roman Forest Police were able to spike one tire. It continued north and into Cleveland. Once in the Cleveland city limits, the driver started driving through neighborhoods. At one point residents seeing the chase attempted to take matters into their own hands and attempted to dangerously form a human chain across the roadway. The chase then came back onto Business 59 into the north side of Cleveland. At that Splendora Police Chief Wieghat, who was at home monitoring the chase and joining in in Splendora decided it was too dangerous to keep going as he was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Washington. Using his SUV he performed a pit maneuver on the truck. The driver was able to recover from the impact and turned south on the northbound I-69 feeder just north of FM 2025. Now going head-on to drivers the Chief again performed a pit maneuver causing the driver to crash into the concrete wall of the freeway. Tyler Biggs, age 28, had several open warrants from Montgomery County for felony evading. They did find additional drugs and a pistol in the vehicle. Biggs who was out on bond failed to report for his August 31, 2022 court date. That charge was from a January 7, 2022 pursuit at which time he was in a stolen vehicle. He was also wanted for April 2021 evading charge which h was out on bond and failed to appear. Biggs also had two other evading charges one in June 2017 and September 2017 for which he was sentenced to 3 years TDCJ. He will now be booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a new charge of felony evading arrest, possession of controlled substance times two, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and felon in possession of a firearm. The was stolen from an apartment complex at SH 105 and McCaleob about 5am this morning, The owner, had had the truck since he was 16 years old in high school. He was restoring the truck as he treasured it as it was the same truck model as the one in the movie “Back to the Future”.
