Samantha McGovernOn Monday April 11, 2016 at approximately 7:59 a.m. Officer Geoffrey Silva was dispatched to the Cleveland Wal-Mart parking lot in regards to suspicious activity. The Police Department had received a call from a concerned citizen advising a drug deal may be taking place in the parking lot area.

Upon arrival, Officer Silva checked the area where the drug deal was said to be taking place. Officer Silva observed a vehicle matching the description (Tan Chevy Silverado Pick-up) that was provided to the Police Department. Officer Silva waited for the vehicle in question to leave the parking lot at which time Officer Silva followed the vehicle. The vehicle traveled onto US 59 and was observed committing a traffic infraction when the vehicle exited the highway onto FM 2025.

Officer Silva conducted a traffic stop for the infraction and met with the driver and two passengers of the vehicle. After meeting with the three occupants, Officer Silva conducted a search of the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Officer Silva discovered three baggies of methamphetamine under the truck seat.

A further investigation found the baggies belonged to one of the female passengers who was identified as Samantha McGovern, age 37 of Conroe, Texas.

Due to the large amount of the methamphetamine Samantha McGovern had in her possession, she was charged with Manufacturer/Delivery of a Controlled Substance “Penalty Group 1”, which is a First Degree Felony.
