Thursday afternoon Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable Philip Cash was patrolling a known drug area of Dobbin in west Montgomery County. He spotted a suspicious vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle stopped but then fled. The vehicle fled west on SH 105 to County Road 204 in Grimes County. The driver then traveled north along the narrow road. At one point, he stopped and his passenger ran into the woods. The chase continued until the suspect identified as John Ray Paldo, 30, of 601 Baker Street in Navasota ran up to the dead-end. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. His passenger was captured a short time later. He was later released. Paldo has an extensive history for organized criminal activity and assault. In 2010, he was given 6 years’ probation on one of the charges in Grimes County. In 2013 that was revoked and he was sent to TDCJ. He was paroled out but went back on a parole violation last March. Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 5 K-9 assisted.
