After a recent string of robberies, Montgomery county Precinct 4 Deputy Constables set out Tuesday morning on four-wheelers to patrol several subdivisions and any trails leading into or out of the area. Just after 9 a.m., as they went to the Lone Star Ranch Subdivision, a red truck sped into the subdivision and ran through the first stop sign. Two deputies activated their emergency lights and attempted to stop the truck, but instead of slowing the driver fled, running another stop sign. As they passed the intersection of Wild Oak at Mystic Ridge, the driver of the truck slammed on his brakes, causing the deputy to take evasive action. The deputy flipped at least four times as the truck turned into a private driveway. The driver and his passenger attempted to flee into the house, but the injured deputy was able to stop the driver and get him cuffed before the deputy going unconscious.
MCHD transported the Deputy to Conroe Regional Hospital in severe condition with undetermined number of injuries. The deputy did have a helmet, but the helmet was heavily damaged.
Both the driver and the passenger were in possession of drugs and were arrested. They will both be booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
We will update on the deputies condition.
