Several wholesale electrical supply companies in Houston and surrounding cities have been burglary targets in recent weeks. Burglars have been attacking the supply companies and stealing tens of thousands of dollars of copper wire from each store. Three electric supply companies in Conroe have been victims in the last month. The fourth burglary in Conroe did not end well for the burglars.
On 09-05-10, approximately 1:30 am, Conroe Police Officers responded to an alarm at HD Electric Supply, located in the 3500 block of N. Loop 336 West. Officers apprehended three males in the process of removing coils and bundles of copper wire from the warehouse. A later inventory valued the stolen items at approximately fourteen thousand dollars. ($14,000.000).
Arriving officers discovered an open door to the building and called for additional officers to establish a perimeter. A search of the building did not reveal any suspects. However, during the building search, perimeter officers observed a black pickup leaving at a high rate of speed from an adjacent church parking lot. Officers were able to apprehend the suspects. Further investigation revealed the tools used to make entry into the building, ski masks, and wire cutters.
The three suspects were transported to the Conroe Police Department for interviews. The suspects were identified and were charged as follows:

HD Electric Supply was also a victim on or about 08-16-10 when burglars entered the building and stole approximately fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) worth of copper wire. Two of the three suspects in this case were also charged with the previous burglary.
