COWBOY MAFIA BBQ EQUIPMENT RECOVERED IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY CHOP SHOP OPERATION

On June 6, 2018, Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constables office received information that a BBQ Pit that had been stolen from San Jacinto County and other suspected vehicles had been seen at 15299 Dogwood Ln. in Conroe Texas.

Based on this is information, Pct. 1 Constables Office contacted the Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Air Wing and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Auto Theft Task Force and flew over the target location. Numerous items of interest were observed on the property including the Cowboys Mafia BBQ equipment.
Deputies from Pct. 1 the Auto Theft Task Force, DPS went to this location and attempted to make contact with the occupants of the residence. No one would come to the gate so a Search Warrant for this location was obtained.
Upon securing the residence, Horace Raymond Chunn and Aletha Ketchum were located hiding in a closet. Upon searching this location for following items were found:
Eight (8) stolen vehicles;
Several utility unidentifiable trailers;
Other miscellaneous equipment;
Cowboy Mafia BBQ Equipment;
And ten (10) firearms (two (2) of which were stolen).
It appears that this location was used as “a chop shop” as there were several items found that indicated that other vehicle had been cutup and dismantled here. The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) were contacted and assisted in identification of several of these vehicles.
Mr. Chunn and Ms. Ketchum were transported to the Montgomery Jail without incident and photographs and bond information is not available at the time.

Horace Raymond Chunn, W/M, Dob.04/15/1962 from Conroe, Texas; was charges with: Aggregate Theft > 300,000.00 (Felony 2) & Possession of Stolen Fire Arm.

Aletha Ketchum W/F, Dob.09/21/1981, from Conroe, Texas;Charged with: Aggregate Theft > 300,000.00 (Felony 2)
