On Sunday, November 8, at 10:20 p.m. Cleveland PD Officers were called to Galilee Baptist Church (710 Watson) in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, Officers found the church had been burglarized and numerous items were stolen from the church. An alert citizen assisted Officers with information, with this information Officers were able to apprehend the burglar and return the stolen property to the Church.
Joseph Anthony Gilmore (age 22) of Cleveland was charged with Burglary of a Building.
A follow-up interview with Gilmore by Detective John Shaver led to the admission other thefts, additional charges of theft have been filed.
Chief Broussard, who assisted with the apprehension of Gilmore said, “This was a team effort, Police working with citizens to catch the bad guys, We cannot ask for more. We appreciate the continued support from our citizens, it definitely makes our job much easier,”.
