Just before 9 am, a female driver in an SUV was westbound on SH 99 feeder at Valey Ranch. She turned south on Valley Ranch and failed to stop for the red light at the eastbound feeder intersection. A one-day-old Chevrolet truck pulling a hydro-mulch trailer was traveling eastbound through the intersection. The SUV hit the truck between the truck and trailer causing it to flip. The driver and passengers were able to exit the upside down truck immediately. Gasoline leaking from a pump on the trailer ignited and spread to spilled diesel, the tire, and packages of grass mulch. With the woman still in the vehicle, one of the occupants of the truck pulled her out and to safety. An off-duty firefighter with an extinguisher knocked down the blaze when Porter Fire arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the remaining blaze. There were no serious injuries, however, the eastbound lanes from Valley Ranch were closed until 11:30 pm as the roadway was cleaned.
