Thursday morning a Houston woman who was westbound on Calvary ROad tried to avoid hitting a squirrel running across the road. Trying to save the little furry creature could have cost her her life. Her Toyota Camry left the roadway and plunged into a 15 foot ravine partially filled with water. The vehicle landed upside down. North Montgomery County FIre Department responded along with MCHD. Once firefighters were able to free her they used a ladder truck, rigged with a line for a rescue basket to bring the woman up to the roadway. According to DPS the driver, who was the sole occupant suffered minor injuries and possibly a broken arm.
