CREWS CONTINUE TO TRY TO RESCUE MAN TRAPPED IN TRENCH COLLAPSE

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — A man working on a trench fell at least 10 feet down after it collapsed Tuesday afternoon in north Harris County.

Klein Fire Department said the incident happened around 2:45 p.m. near a golf course in the area of Spring Cypress and Champion Forest.

Dirt in the trench buried the man up to his chest, according to the fire department. The person, though, is alert and talking with firefighters.

According to reports at the scene, first responders were trying to stabilize the hole to prevent another cave-in.

The worker’s condition is not immediately known, but he told firefighters of leg pains.
