On April 19, 2018, while on a routine patrol of Splendora neighborhoods, SPD officer St. Romain initiated a traffic stop on Ipes Rd. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, St. Romain could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After further questioning as to their activity, the passenger admitted to a bag of marijuana in her handbag. Our officer then had both the driver and the passenger exit the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. Cocaine was found as a result of this search. The subsequent field tests conducted were positive for these substances. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Michael Crawley and the passenger was identified as Kendyl Crawley. The two suspects were taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
