On July 19, 2018 at 2:31 AM Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 29500 block of Aberdeen Dr. Magnolia, Texas in reference to information that a subject was possibly driving a stolen vehicle. While in route to the call Deputies were notified that the actor, later identified as Justin Coers, had just left the location and was heading out of the neighborhood. The stolen car, a gold Hyundai passenger car, was located and the return on the vehicle’s license plate was showing stolen. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, and after making contact with the driver he sped off. An 11 mile long pursuit ensued and when the suspect was at a dead end of a parking lot he turned around and then drove the stolen vehicle towards the Deputy’s vehicle and another Deputy’s patrol car. The suspect rammed into the front passenger side of one police vehicle causing damage to the front bumper and side panels. The suspect then proceeded to drive over numerous curbs and flowerbeds and left the parking lot.
Magnolia Police assisted by setting up spike strips which were effective and the suspect pulled over and ended the pursuit just south on Spur 149
Upon questioning, the suspect advised he took the vehicle from his girlfriend’s mother due to him being kicked out of the house. The vehicle was reported stolen on 7-18-18 from Pasadena Texas.
Justin Coers was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, Agravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and was also placed in jail on an oustanding Blue Warrant.
The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Megan Potts, she was also arrested for Public Intoxication.
