Just before midnight Conroe Police received a call from a motorist reporting an apparent intoxicated male driving northbound on I-45 just south of the Conroe city limits. Two officers set up on I-45 northbound just south of Wilson Road on the inside shoulder. One officer had been outside his vehicle when the vehicle topped SH 105. The Hummer came onto the shoulder slamming into one of the patrol cars. The second officer was able to get his patrol car out of the way as he saw it coming. The officer who was outside of his vehicle sustained injuries to his head and arm and was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center in stable condition. The driver of the Hummer was transported to Conroe Regional in stable condition, however his condition worsened and he was places in ICU. The driver did appear impaired. The crash is still under investigation with possible charges pending.
